Note of 12 March 2002: 13 September 1997: (revised 14 September 1997) Last week, Ruth Coffey called from Southern California to say that she had heard a blurb on the news and later had seen footage of a young man in handcuffs for the alleged crime of putting flyers on cars. The reaction from law enforcement seemed bizarre for the alleged crime, and Ruth asked me to check the Internet for information. It took phone calls to the local paper to track down the general story. Some details have been supplied by the newspaper's web site as referenced above. I also spoke with Alexander Curtis for the rest of the story. |

On 26 August, 1997, at 7:10 a.m., a SWAT team of approximately 10 agents entered Alexander Curtis' parents' house with television news cameras recording the event. The home is in Lemon Grove. The raid was conducted by the La Mesa Police with guns drawn. Alexander and his father were handcuffed. Alexander's sister and mother were greeted with shotguns raised. The search warrant called for the seizing of all computer and typesetting equipment, as well as any likeness of the badge of the La Mesa PD. The search lasted for approximately 2 hours while police strewed Alexander's personal belongings all over his room. The police seized Alexander's computer and modem. The police told Alexander he was under arrest for weapons and explosives. The sum of what they found was allegedly a pair of antique brass knuckles given to Alex's dad by an FBI agent friend in 1958; a piece of printing equipment from a store worth less than $50; some fireworks (M80s); and flyers that allegedly had the badge of the La Mesa Police Department on them. They also later charged Alex with battery on a female security guard who said he had pushed her, when she was holding his arms and he simply backed away from her. All are misdemeanors. Alexander was taken to the La Mesa Police station and held there for about 3 hours and was fingerprinted three times. Then he was taken to the downtown San Diego jail and placed there for three days. His bail was set at an astronomical $200,000, supposedly because the detective believed he would interfere with the ongoing investigation of others. On 28 August 1997, Alex was arraigned and released on his own recognizance. His preliminary hearing has been delayed until 31 October 1997 and his trial has been put off until 24 November 1997. Four friends of Alexander have also been charged with allegedly using police insignia. The flyer that apparently caused the SWAT team raid contains the following: "Help Stop Non-white Crime. Support the La Mesa Police Dept. (Then there appeared the facsimile of the badge of the La Mesa Police) With the influx of negroes, mexicans and other mud La Mesa is being turned into a non-white sewer. La Mesa Police need your help in identifying criminal minorities and interracial couples. Support the LMPD and call Dan at 667-1437 Also our hotline at 401-9107" Commentary: The flyer that Alexander allegedly made and distributed was clearly politically incorrect. With all the 20/20 hindsight of someone not involved and not 21-years-old, I concede that the use of a generic clip-art badge would have been a better idea. But what about the use of American institutional insignia for travesties such as open borders immigration policies, "treaties" that destroy the sovereignty of this nation, the international giveaway of American jobs, tax monies and assets, seizure of citizen's assets by government agencies, Ruby Ridge, Waco, etc., etc., etc.? With regard to the rhetoric of the flyer, before condemning it you should research the kind of insults and threats White Americans are expected to endure in California. For example: ... "[Proposition]187 is the last gasp of white America in California. And people say to me on the Senate floor when I was in the Senate, why do you fight so hard for affirmative action programs? And I tell my white colleagues, you're going to need them."--Art Torres, Chair, California Democratic Party "English-only speakers are the pendejos. We will elect the next President. Latino Vote USA is a 20-state alliance. We will decide the ballot issues."--Esteban Torres, U.S. House of Representatives And those quotes are from elected and appointed leaders. The street version is truly grotesque. How would you like to endure the spew of Monsters of Ingratitude like the hispanics quoted above? In California, we are surrounded by Monsters of Ingratitude in every race and ethnicity, each screaming for more extortion from and denigration of the descendents of White Americans who created this nation. It is hard to believe the flyer was enough to trigger an early morning raid of a black-suited SWAT team. The police came to SEIZE A COMPUTER. This was an extremely inappropriate use of potentially deadly force. The heartbreaking implication is that the police who carry the responsibility of the trust of citizens to protect and serve and use appropriate force have been manipulated into using intimidating full force against White Americans for the distribution of pieces of paper with words and images on them. Especially egregious is the setting of bail at $200,000. Alexander was arrested for distributing flyers, not for murder. How many people can come up with the fee for a $200,000 bail? Is this the new precedent for people who exercise their First Amendment rights in a politically incorrect form? Will the precedent be used for all races? Or is it just White Americans that will pay the price? The astronomical bail served to keep Alexander in jail in a situation where he was vulnerable to potential attack. This vulnerability to potential attack was even suggested by one of the San Diego Union Tribune writers, Logan Jenkins, in his article of 12 February 1997, entitled "Hate Is A Legal Art Form " (available in the paper's archives at http://www.uniontrib.com) . Logan Jenkins wrote: "Last Thursday, racist leaflets appeared on windshields at California State University San Marcos. A 15-year-old La Mesa boy was caught and released. At least one CSUSM student also is suspected in what the District Attorney's Office says is not a crime. An unspeakable act, sure. But not a crime. As anyone who has studied the First Amendment -- or watched 'The People vs. Larry Flynt' -- knows, revolting speech is protected by the Constitution. Nevertheless, should the kid have been carted off to Juvey? The heart says yes. The mind (reluctantly) says no..." Logan Jenkins ends the article with: "And the minute the racists threaten anyone with violence, throw them into a very diverse prison cell." Alexander did not threaten violence, but he was thrown into a very diverse prison cell. Further research is needed, but information from Alexander indicates that the detective who previously monitored Alexander's activities was given a trip to Israel by a jewish organization. If this is true, the implications of police officers being given vacations as rewards for stopping young White Americans from exercising their right of free speech are horrendous. We need our police to be virtuous and to act in accordance with the Constitution, not the dictates of jewish organizations. Alexander's case was foreshadowed 4 months previously by another raid targeting young White men who exercise their free speech rights. Resistance Records, producers and distributors of Pro-White music were raided in an extraordinary manner over a sales tax question. (Note: The following is an edited version of an email newsletter sent by Resistance Records) To verify: "At approximately 10 a.m., April 9, 1997, Resistance Records Incorporated had its front door kicked in by a team of heavily armed police. Police and Sheriff Department personnel leveled their shotguns at the head of an un-armed and surprised Resistance Records staffer...ordering him to the floor." "A 33 page warrant was served by the police who then busied themselves by ransacking the premises. After approximately six hours, the police left, taking with them the company's music inventory, it's software, and the majority of its financial records. These police officers executed this seizure reportedly for a discrepancy involving 'Michigan State Sales Tax'." "The above mentioned tax discrepancy could easily have been straightened out with a simple phone call, fax or a visit by a tax representative. The company certainly would have complied with an audit and any money owed would have been paid immediately. Any other business would have been contacted by the means mentioned above. (Note: Resistance Records apparently felt the seizure was a stratagem to gather names and addresses from the company's mailing list-E.) Obviously, the collection of the company's inventory was done in an effort to shut down Resistance Records for good." "At exactly the same time as the raid in Michigan, a raid conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police took place at the Resistance office in Windsor, Canada. The Canadian police had a warrant consisting of over 100 pages. Allegations of 'inciting racial hatred' and 'conspiracy to commit genocide' were presented, however no arrests ensued. While computers and merchandise were returned by the State of Michigan to Resistance with the assistance of some expensive legal aid, Canadian authorities have yet to return a single item." "In this day and age, police actions prompted by irresponsible government officials are not an uncommon occurrence. Whether one agrees or disagrees with the views presented by Resistance Records... the bottom line is that this is clearly an attempt to stifle free speech. If this sort of thing can happen to a music company which operates above ground in a legitimate fashion... then no one is safe." These situations bear watching, my friends. A very astute friend told me an important question is: "Who are the judges that are signing these search warrants and giving approval for these tactics of intimidation?". We have already witnessed the entrapment slaughter at Ruby Ridge and the massacre at Waco. We have to protect the Bill of Rights. If you haven't read the Constitution and Bill of Rights for a while, please read them with the knowledge that they are under lethal attack.
